As long as there have been cheaters and thieves, courageous people have stepped forward to stop them. In this day and age, whistleblowers need legal protection before they expose the wrongdoer. Congress has established laws to protect whistleblowers against retaliation and reward them for helping the Government stop fraud. Rawls, Dickinson & Scheer’s lawyers are specially trained in protecting whistleblowers and maximizing their financial reward. If you are planning to expose a fraud, it is critical that you have a lawyer advising you before you open that door. Call us.
The Federal False Claims Act is the law which allows private citizens to sue in the name of the Government when someone defrauds it. The citizen who brings this action is called the “Relator” (the person who “relates” the story of wrongdoing). These so-called Qui Tam laws impose very strict requirements in order for the Relator to share in the money recovered by the Government and avail themselves of the protections of the Act.
We represent people with inside knowledge of financial scams against the United States Government, including those involving:
- Medicare / Medicaid Fraud
- Government Contracts
- Procurement Fraud
- Other thefts from the taxpayers
STEP ONE is to determine if you would qualify for the rewards and protections of the False Claims Act should you decide to come forward. To better understand your rights in stopping fraud against the Government, please read the Whistleblower Frequently Asked Questions.
